Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base The Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base is a cost-effective yet fully equipped professional head, offering substantial improvements over its predecessor, the 501HDV. Built with enhanced durability and incorporating Manfrotto’s bridging technology derived from the 509 and 504 heads, this head is tailored for cinematic maneuvers with compact camcorders and DSLR cameras. Available in two versions, this “AH” flat base version features a 3/8″-16 mounting hole, while the “A” ball base version can be purchased separately. With a weight capacity of 22 lb and an 8.8 lb counterbalance support, the head accommodates various setups. The 3.27″ balance plate range helps counteract uneven payloads, such as those caused by matte boxes or DSLR rigs. The bridging technology ensures an intuitive pan friction control that is both user-friendly and resilient against impacts. Independent locks for pan and tilt, along with continuously adjustable drag levels from zero to maximum, allow confident and smooth head operation using the included pan bar. The Quick Power Locks secure the legs and improve rigidity by 50% compared to its predecessor, while increasing the load capacity by 4.4 lb. The center column, which can be operated with just one finger, includes an Easy Link attachment for accessories such as LED lights or reflectors. This column can also be positioned horizontally for low-angle and macro photography. Furthermore, the redesigned upper disc features a 360° rotatable bull’s eye bubble level for convenient leveling on both horizontal and vertical planes.
