Zhiyun-Tech CRANE 3S Handheld Stabilizer: Redesigned Power and Versatility The Zhiyun-Tech CRANE 3S Handheld Stabilizer is a powerful evolution of Zhiyun gimbals, engineered for demanding cinematography tasks. This redesign boasts significant upgrades including detachable handle options, more powerful motors with a substantial 14.3 lb payload capacity, an updated axis-locking system, external power input, and the intuitive ViaTouch 2.0 remote control system. The innovative 55° angled roll axis ensures your camera view remains unobstructed, and its modular design allows for an included extension arm to accommodate even larger camera setups. Ergonomic Design and Creative Control The CRANE 3S features an angled, ergonomic handle that provides comfortable two-handed operation for optimal stability. This design allows you to seamlessly switch to underslung mode, enabling creative shots like 330° roll shots as you move towards your subject. It offers numerous advanced features, including remote control of camera record/stop/shutter via included cables, and an improved zoom and focus system building on its predecessor, the CRANE 3 LAB. It’s also compatible with the separately available Transmount Image Transmission System for wireless video transmission, and can accommodate a wide range of camera sizes by utilizing an optional extension module for the horizontal arm. Flexible Handling and Power Options The 3S offers two options for its detachable, angled handle: the included SmartSling, which provides an ergonomic grip with an integrated joystick and control buttons, and the optional EasySling for a simple, comfortable handgrip without controls. All essential controls are conveniently located at your fingertips on the main handle, alongside a clear OLED status screen. The free Zhiyun iOS/Android app expands control functions, offering special features like panorama, focus time-lapse, motion time-lapse, long exposure time-lapse, and camera settings. You can power the 3S for up to 12 hours using the three included batteries. For extended shooting, a DC port allows you to plug in an optional battery pack like the Transmount PowerPlus (containing six 18650 batteries), extending your shooting time to an impressive 18 hours. The CRANE 3S can be wirelessly controlled using the updated ViaTouch 2.0 iOS or Android smartphone app via Bluetooth 5.0 for remote motion control and gimbal setting management. Robust Features and Design The gimbal provides nine accessory mounting threads for attaching a variety of Transmount or third-party accessories. A major enhancement is the redesigned axis latch lock system, featuring a separate latch lock on each axis for solid, sway-free locking. This allows you to lock individual axes to retain your balance positions when powering off the gimbal, eliminating the need to rebalance for each use.
